Session Tips

Be Creative! ~ Personalize your portraits by including props that reflect your interests and personality. A good prop can be anything - your favorite hat, sunglasses, shoes and boots, a musical instrument, motorcycle, car, letter jacket, sports equipment and uniform, even a pet!

Clothing Suggestions ~ Avoid bold and busy patterns - solid or very subtle patterns are preferable. Make sure your clothes are not wrinkled. Some poses may include your full body, including shoes, so coordinate your outfits (or leave the shoes off altogether!). Remove the lenses from your glasses prior to your photo session to eliminate reflections, or ask your optician for a set of frames with no lenses for your session.
As your photographer, I want to see who you are, and not just what outfit you’re wearing. Clothing should compliment your look, not complicate it. However, rules can be broken! If you have an outfit that doesn’t quite meet the 'guidelines', but says a lot about who you are, and you just have to be photographed in it – bring it anyway! I’ll make it work for you.

If you have any questions about how to incorporate something into your portraits, give me a call to discuss some ideas.

Viewing Your Portraits
Your viewing session can be scheduled when you reserve your session, or at the time of your session, and will take place in your home or other mutually-convenient location. This is when you will select your images and place your order. Your portraits will either be projected large on a wall, or viewed on my computer, depending on space available. I'll be able to show you different versions of your portraits (such as Black & White and cropping), discuss retouching options and special effects, and help you decide which images are the right ones for your purchase - for example which one will make great wallets, a great yearbook picture, and so on. Your time is needed to plan your purchase, so make room for an hour or two. Everyone involved in the decision-making process must be present at the viewing session.
