Last week I traveled to Truro on a breezy (okay really really windy) evening to photograph this fun family celebrating their parents’ 45th wedding anniversary.  Their bright pastel colors were my first clue that this was going to be fun.  Then they showed me around the funky-artsy house on a cliff they were renting for the week.  It was a photographer’s dream- I could spend all day there shooting!  They loved the house too and wanted to show it off in their images. I thought that was a great idea since I knew the beach would be windy. Then they said, “Oh, we don’t care about the wind“.  It was all about celebrating Frank and Pat’s anniversary and showing the love this family has for their parents and each other and their Cape Cod vacation. And drinking chocolate wine…
Here’s a few of my favorites:

Here’s a sneak peek of some of Ryan’s senior pictures.  Ryan runs cross-country track and runs every single day, even in the summer.  I photographed his sister Nicole a couple of years ago – you can see the resemblance between the two!  Pembroke requires the guys to wear a button-down shirt and tie for the yearbook so we started with that, then went for more casual clothes. He brought perfect colors for the beach…

This family from Connecticut travels to Cape Cod every summer for a vacation, and stays in a different town each time.  We went to Chapin Beach in Dennis where it was low tide – which makes for such a scenic background!

Here’s a sneak peek of their images!

Pembroke Family

July 25, 2010

I photographed Colby last summer for her senior pics, and this summer her mom and aunt came down for family pictures.  They were loads of fun!  And so photogenic. Such beautiful ladies – like Pembroke’s version of “Charlie’s Angels”!  It was an absolutely gorgeous evening at the beach, too.  Here’s just a few of their images:

I traveled to Justin’s family cottage in Popponesset for a 2-for-1 senior portrait session  with his friend Tadhg.  They all come from way up in Georgetown, MA but spend a lot of the summer at the Cape.  Despite Tropical Storm Bill passing offshore the night shore, the weather was beautiful.  The surf was still pretty high and I actually went into the water to get the angle I wanted and was hit by a huge wave that pretty much soaked my pants. Camera was OK, though!  And the water was surprisingly warm – though I’m used to the Scusset and Sagamore Beach water, where there’s always ice cubes floating in it.  ;)

So here’s a couple of my favorites of Justin:justin_c_111

we made some use of Sunfish hanging out on the beach:justin_c_118Here’s Tadhg (an old Irish name, pronounced “Tige”):

Here’s Rhianna, a senior from Bristol-Plymouth High School.  We had an absolutely gorgeous evening for photographs – a perfect evening for photographing a gorgeous high school senior! Rhianna also plays volleyball for B-P – she’s hoping to play in college, too.  Here’s a sneak peek of her images…rhianna_j_106

and the beach grass is looking spectacular, too!  Oh and so is Rhianna! :) rhianna_j_123

We had a perfect breeze, too…and had some fun with a pretty scarf that Rhianna brought.rhianna_j_134rhianna_j_139Thanks for coming down Rhianna!

These siblings arranged a beach portrait of themselves at the beach where their summer home is located as a Mother’s Day gift.  So sweet!  This was the 3rd attempt at the session, as the first one was postponed because of fog (what’s a beach portrait if you can’t see the water??), the 2nd rained out – 3rd time’s the charm!  Despite the wind (when is it not windy at the beach?) we all had a great time and I captured some beautiful images of these gorgeous ‘kids’ as we roamed the beach and their neighborhood for some photogenic spots.  Here’s a sample:

Tiana came down to Scusset Beach all the way from Dracut on Monday- braving uncertain weather predictions – but it turned out to be a picture-perfect evening!  She’s off looking at colleges next week where she’s going to study Physical Therapy.
Here’s a sneak preview of the many images we created together.
