Last week I traveled to Truro on a breezy (okay really really windy) evening to photograph this fun family celebrating their parents’ 45th wedding anniversary.  Their bright pastel colors were my first clue that this was going to be fun.  Then they showed me around the funky-artsy house on a cliff they were renting for the week.  It was a photographer’s dream- I could spend all day there shooting!  They loved the house too and wanted to show it off in their images. I thought that was a great idea since I knew the beach would be windy. Then they said, “Oh, we don’t care about the wind“.  It was all about celebrating Frank and Pat’s anniversary and showing the love this family has for their parents and each other and their Cape Cod vacation. And drinking chocolate wine…
Here’s a few of my favorites:

This family from Connecticut travels to Cape Cod every summer for a vacation, and stays in a different town each time.  We went to Chapin Beach in Dennis where it was low tide – which makes for such a scenic background!

Here’s a sneak peek of their images!

Pembroke Family

July 25, 2010

I photographed Colby last summer for her senior pics, and this summer her mom and aunt came down for family pictures.  They were loads of fun!  And so photogenic. Such beautiful ladies – like Pembroke’s version of “Charlie’s Angels”!  It was an absolutely gorgeous evening at the beach, too.  Here’s just a few of their images:

Backyard Family Portrait

July 17, 2010

I traveled to this family’s home in Holbrook last week. I photographed Michaelia’s Senior Portraits a couple of years ago and now their very first Family Portrait!  I loved the light in the pool/deck area and we decided to stay there instead of traveling to another outdoor location. I was oh-so-tempted to jump right in their pool afterwards since it was so hot!  I just love this family – they’re so fun and good-looking too!  Here’s a sneak peek of their images:

The kids wanted to do a ‘fun’ one – I tried to convince them to jump in the pool, but they went for this one instead:I also photographed Frankie in his cool First Communion suit – here is ready for the cover of GQ…

I traveled to Justin’s family cottage in Popponesset for a 2-for-1 senior portrait session  with his friend Tadhg.  They all come from way up in Georgetown, MA but spend a lot of the summer at the Cape.  Despite Tropical Storm Bill passing offshore the night shore, the weather was beautiful.  The surf was still pretty high and I actually went into the water to get the angle I wanted and was hit by a huge wave that pretty much soaked my pants. Camera was OK, though!  And the water was surprisingly warm – though I’m used to the Scusset and Sagamore Beach water, where there’s always ice cubes floating in it.  ;)

So here’s a couple of my favorites of Justin:justin_c_111

Here’s Ben, Brielyn’s cousin. Ben’s a senior at Sandwich High School and plays on the soccer team.  Here’s a few of my favorites from the session!ben_v_106

These siblings arranged a beach portrait of themselves at the beach where their summer home is located as a Mother’s Day gift.  So sweet!  This was the 3rd attempt at the session, as the first one was postponed because of fog (what’s a beach portrait if you can’t see the water??), the 2nd rained out – 3rd time’s the charm!  Despite the wind (when is it not windy at the beach?) we all had a great time and I captured some beautiful images of these gorgeous ‘kids’ as we roamed the beach and their neighborhood for some photogenic spots.  Here’s a sample:

Celebrating 50 years

August 8, 2008

I had the pleasure of photographing a family of 16 on Sagamore Beach this past weekend. Luckily the ran cleared out Saturday evening for a small window of time to take lots of pictures! This couple celebrated 50 years of marriage this past May, and a portrait of her family on the beach was her dream. Happy Anniversary!
The cousins – with attitude:
A family session wouldn’t be complete without a pyramid!

Worth the wait…

July 29, 2008

This family was vacationing at Sagamore Beach last week. The session had been postponed twice during the week because of weather. We finally got together last Friday night…and it was a perfect evening at the beach. I’m so glad we waited! This was a beautiful family inside and out. The two little girls had to be the most well-behaved I’ve ever met. And they were so cute, too! The youngest just celebrated her 6th birthday, and the parents just celebrated a wedding anniversary. I was honored to photograph them! Here’s some of my favorites from their beach session:
We also had a perfect sunset to end this gorgeous evening…
